Epic Fish: Marlin Madness Demo: Bazza McReel and the Black Marlin
Bazza McReel is after the Black Marlin in the third game to carry the Epic Fish title (September 2025), on 5x3 reels with 10 lines. The sheet pairs a default RTP of 96.12% with volatility 3 of 5. The game page's 5,000x is the Marlin's top multiplier; in Quickspin's simulation no win went past 7,673.8x the bet.
Who catches the Black Marlin, and what is it worth?
A Wild does. Each Marlin that lands in the free spins, whole or in part, lifts the Marlin Multiplier a step from 30x, up to 5,000x on Quickspin's page. The help screen pays it only when the whole Marlin and a Wild are on the reels together. Our two natural rounds brought eight whole Marlins and one catch, worth 30x, the multiplier from before that Marlin's own step.

The shark attacks only on spins with a Wild
A fisherman with goggles on his cap is the Wild here, and Fish values pay through him. All Fish on screen go to every Wild at their printed values (1x to 25x, three sizes), so two Wilds pay each Fish twice. Fish showed on 238 of our base screens, and a Wild joined them on 18. The one 25x Fish, on spin 218, had none.

Shark Attack needs that Wild too. At random, a shark eats low symbols and leaves Fish behind. Eleven of our 93 Wild spins got one, and those spins collected €125.00 in Fish. Our top base-game result came on spin 450: four shark Fish worth 16x went to two Wilds each, 32.2x with a line win.
Each Marlin in view moves the multiplier, caught or not
No base screen of ours showed a Marlin, and the Black Marlin buy card says it "can now land on reels", so it belongs to the free spins. Each one that lands, even cut off at the edge, lifts the multiplier for the rest of the round.

Ours climbed 30x, 45x, 60x, 75x, 100x, 125x, 150x, 175x and 200x. Quickspin prints only the ends of the range.

On free spin 2 of the round from spin 366, a Wild under a whole Marlin took it for 30x, the multiplier from before its own step, which by our reading of the clip below is the value on its plate. The other seven whole Marlins in our two rounds had no Wild with them and paid nothing.
Nudge Up and Hooked: second chances for a Marlin that misses
Black Marlin, Nudge Up and Hooked open with 10, 12 and 14 spins for three, four and five Bonus symbols, and nothing retriggers. The Wild meter adds 2 spins and a mode at 6 Wilds and at 12; Nudge Up starts on 6, so 14 is the ceiling.

Nudge Up lifts a Marlin that stops partly on or just below the reels by one row. In our round from spin 325 it fired four times and once completed a Marlin. Hooked keeps an uncaught whole Marlin for one more spin.
Fish in the base game paid 65% of our return
Our return over 500 paid spins at €1.00 was €306.60, 61.3%, and at no point did the balance climb back to the opening €5,000.00. The longest drought ran 19 spins.
- 500paid demo spins at €1.00
- 23.4%of them paid something
- 43.1xbest spin, free spins round included
- 2free spins bonuses triggered
Fish collections brought in €199.00, lines €55.40 and the two rounds €52.20. Spin 325 followed the €4,783.80 low and opened 12 spins of Nudge Up with four Bonus symbols: four whole Marlins, a multiplier up to 200x, no Wild beside any of them, 9.1x in the end.
Spin 366 gave 10 spins of Black Marlin, caught the 30x Marlin with a 3x Fish on its second spin and ended on 43.1x, our best. Against the sheet's 24.58%, our hit rate was 23.4%.
45x buys the Marlin, 200x buys the hook
A buy starts its mode as if the matching Bonus symbols had landed. No buy RTP is published, and a buy rules out Extra Bet.

| Option | Price | At €1.00 |
|---|---|---|
| Black Marlin, 3 Bonus symbolsThe Black Marlin can now land on the reels | 45x | €45.00 |
| Nudge Up, 4 Bonus symbolsA Black Marlin landing partly or just outside the reels nudges up | 100x | €100.00 |
| Hooked, 5 Bonus symbolsA Black Marlin that is not caught stays sticky for one spin | 200x | €200.00 |
For €45.00 we got 10 free spins and a 30X badge. Both Marlins stopped half above the top row. The first, plated 30.00 beside two Wilds, moved the badge to 45X, and on the next spin the sixth Wild brought Nudge Up and 2 more spins. The second, plated 45.00, moved it to 60X.
€25.20 came back from the 12 spins, a €19.80 loss. Four natural rounds in the same 80 media spins paid 12.4x to 41.9x, none as much as 45x.
Seven months after Net of Fortune, with a higher ceiling
Epic Fish: Net of Fortune (February 2025), Uncle Finn's Norwegian game, shares the 5x3 grid, 10 lines, volatility and the 45x and 100x buys. Its top buy is 250x, its rounds run 7 to 9 spins, and Net Respins do the shark's job. A 100x win comes every 1,162 spins on its sheet (950 here), and its simulated maximum is lower, 5,360.9x against 7,673.8x. Our logs went the other way, 149.3% against 61.3%.
Most of our money came from the shark and the Fish, with Extra Bet off. The free spins depend on a Wild meeting a whole Marlin, and only Hooked starts with a second chance for a whole Marlin that missed. Casino copies can sit at 94.19%, 92.07% or 84.21%, all below the demo's 96.12%, and some markets lack Extra Bet and the buys.
Six answers for anyone fishing for the Marlin
Five of the six lean on our two logs.
Can a Black Marlin appear in the base game?
Not in our log: none of the 500 base screens showed one, and the buy card ties it to its own mode. All 13 Marlins of that log came in the 22 free spins of its two natural rounds.
Is the Marlin's 5,000x the game's top win?
No. 5,000x is the top Marlin Multiplier on Quickspin's page. The studio's 100 million simulated spins top out at 7,673.8x on the 96.12% model, and the sheet's lower models print 7,620x, 7,520x and 5,559x.
What happens to a whole Marlin that lands with no Wild?
It pays nothing but still lifts the multiplier a step. Seven of our eight whole Marlins went that way. In Hooked it stays sticky for one more spin, so a Wild then can still collect it.
Does Shark Attack ever strike without a Wild?
The help screen ties it to a Wild on the reels, and our log agrees: all 11 attacks came among the 93 base spins with a Wild, each adding 1 to 4 Fish for that Wild to collect.
Does the Marlin Multiplier start again on every free spin?
No, it carries through the round. In our Nudge Up round it climbed from 30x on the first spin to 200x on the last, also on spins that caught nothing, so a late catch pays more.
How many Wilds does a bought Black Marlin round need to reach Hooked?
Twelve. The 6th Wild moves it to Nudge Up with 2 extra spins and the 12th to Hooked with 2 more, 14 spins in all. Our bought round reached Nudge Up and played 12.
