Artemis vs Medusa Demo: Bounty Coins and an Open-Ended Hunt
Artemis vs Medusa · Quickspin · RTP 96.17% · max win 5,286.6x · checked on the demo server
In Artemis vs Medusa the goddess of the hunt fights Medusa's Harpy, Griffon and Minotaur on 5x4 reels with 1,024 ways, a Quickspin game from August 2020 paying 96.17%. Coins on the monsters pay in the base game, and the free spins carry no number at all, running until the battle is decided. Quickspin's build is embedded below, plays in the browser and asks for neither registration nor a deposit.
What ends the Unlimited Battle Freespins in Artemis vs Medusa?
There is no spin count. Quickspin's rules stop the round when the monster meter passes 15, which makes Artemis retreat, or when Artemis destroys the last monster. Each Artemis symbol removes the cheapest monster type and pays its bounty, while monsters landing beside her are added to the meter. Our four battles lasted 8, 10, 7 and 9 spins, and all four ended in a retreat.

Nothing can be bought here, so three Bonus Scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4 are the only way into the battle. Play money comes to €5,000.00, and the client offers the sheet's full stake range, €0.20 to €100.00. Its RTP on the demo server is 96.17%, the one model Quickspin lists. The game's producer writes that the battlefield was designed for portrait screens.

Coins on the monsters, collected by a framed Artemis on reel 5
Any of the four monster symbols can land carrying a Monster Bounty Coin, but only in the base game. A coin pays nothing until an Artemis in a golden frame lands, and the rules allow her only on the last reel. When she does, every coin on the screen is collected.

What a coin is worth depends on the monster under it. The paytable prices them at a €1.00 bet, from the Harpy at €2 to Medusa at €15, so three Medusa coins and a golden Artemis are a 45x spin without a single winning way.

Exactly that happened on spin 16 of our log, which stayed our best base result at 45x. A golden Artemis reached reel 5 on 83 of our 500 spins and coins showed on 80, but the two met only 13 times. Those 13 bounties paid €167.00, 33.4% of our stakes. The sheet's 22.56% Feature Game share is most likely this feature, though Quickspin does not say so.
Battle free spins that count up instead of down
Once three Bonus Scatters land, the counter in the corner reads Spins Played. A meter in four colours sits above the reels: green for the Harpy, blue for the Griffon, orange for the Minotaur and red for Medusa, with one of each at the start.

What the screens inside the game leave out comes from Quickspin's page and sheet. Whenever Artemis lands, every monster symbol on the reels with her joins the meter. Then, for each Artemis, the cheapest monster type is struck off, Harpies first and Medusa last, and its bounty is paid. If the meter ever holds more than 15 monsters, Artemis retreats and the free spins end. Clearing the last type ends them too. Spins without an Artemis change nothing on the meter, so a round can go on for many spins before she shows up.

Each Artemis removes one type but can bring several monsters with her, and Medusa goes only after the other three. The game page promises a potentially huge win if Medusa falls, with every Medusa symbol on the battlefield raising a Medusa Bounty. The number in her red segment, which we read as that bounty though the client does not label it, climbed from 25.00 on the third spin of our filmed round to 100.00 by the ninth.

Artemis never reached Medusa. The next screen showed the battlefield with the monsters still standing and Artemis gone.

Three battles in 500 spins, each lost to the meter
Hit rate in the logged run was 26% over 500 spins at €1.00. Of those spins, 3 started a battle, and the run returned €473.60 for €500.00, 94.7%.
- 500paid demo spins at €1.00
- 26%of them paid something
- 84.9xbest spin, free spins round included

The server answers show how each round ended. Spin 7 started a battle of 8 spins that closed with 16 monsters on the meter, and spin 97 one of 10 spins that finished at 21. Spin 398 lasted 7 and ended at 16. Not one cleared the meter, so Medusa's bounty never paid. The rounds returned 37x, 12.8x and 84.9x. The last was our best result and made most of it on its first free spin, which paid €72.00 with two wilds on the reels before any Artemis had landed.
Line wins in the base game paid €171.95 (34.4% of stakes), bounties €167.00 (33.4%) and the battles €134.65 (26.9%). Against the sheet's 44.76%, 22.56% and 28.85%, coins ran ahead and lines behind. Three battles cannot settle the third column.
Our filmed battle, and another 2020 Greek myth on this site
A separate media session reached the battle on its 39th spin. Three Bonus Scatters stopped on reels 2, 3 and 4, and the round played 9 spins before the meter overflowed.
Once the base reels returned, the Win box read €53.30, 53.3x the bet.

Titan Thunder: Wrath of Hades came out three months later, in November 2020, and its sheet splits the RTP the same three ways, with a 23.28% feature share next to 22.56% here. It is the harsher game on paper, volatility 5 of 5 and a 12,523.2x record, and it sells its free spins for 40x, while the Artemis battle cannot be bought.
In our spins the coins paid more than the battles
Quickspin's sheet card rates the game 4.4 of 5, near the top of the scale, and puts its top win at 5,286.6x in 100 billion simulated spins. The studio's own text calls it medium volatile all the same. We would play it for the bounty system and for a free spins round whose length is decided in front of you, one Artemis at a time. None of our battles got as far as Medusa.
Medusa, the meter and the missing buy
The paytable, Quickspin's own documents and our logged spins answer these four.
Can Monster Bounty Coins land during the free spins?
No. The paytable says coins appear only in the base game. In the battle, money from monsters comes another way: every time an Artemis strikes a monster type off the meter, that type's bounty is paid, like the €1.00 paid as the Harpy left the meter on spin 3 of our filmed round.
Where do the Bonus Scatters land, and how many start the battle?
Three start it, and the rules put Bonus Scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4 in the base game only, so a trigger needs one on each middle reel. Our 500 logged spins produced 3 battles, about one every 167 spins in that sample.
Is the top win 5,288x or 5,286.6x?
Both come from Quickspin. The game page and the sheet text say 5,288x, while the sheet's card and the demo server give 5,286.6x the bet as the largest win in 100 billion simulated spins. No cap is stated, so we quote the simulated figure.
Why is there no bonus buy in Artemis vs Medusa?
Quickspin's page and sheet mention none, and the demo server lists no purchase option for this game. The battle has to come from three Bonus Scatters. Every battle on this page started that way.
