Treasure Island Demo: Pick a Compass, Then Hop the Islands
Three compasses and a choice of three prizes drive Treasure Island, a pirate slot Quickspin released for real money in November 2013. One compass pays credits, one starts a Treasure Hunt and one opens Island Hop, a map of 16 islands that builds the free spins. The 5x4 grid pays 40 lines, and the game sheet lists one RTP model, 97.07%, volatility 2.70 of 5 and a top result of 1,844x.
What happens after you pick a compass in Treasure Island?
All three open, each with a different prize: credits, the Treasure Hunt or the Free Spins. The Treasure Hunt gives two digs among five X marks, one of them Ben Gunn's cave with three chests. Free Spins leads to Island Hop, where 6 spins grow with island picks until a Start Free Spins island turns up. In our 500 spins the compass we picked revealed Credits 6 times, Free Spins 5 and the hunt twice.

Chest Wilds in stacks and a ship that fires at barrels
With no rules screens captured, Quickspin's demo server supplies the grid and lines: five reels of four symbols, and winning lines numbered 1 to 40, all of which paid in our 500 spins. The chest Wild stacks: on 45 spins a whole reel turned to chests.

Two or more TNT Barrel Wilds start the Pirate Attack: the reels fade and a ship bombards them. In our log it fired two or three shots per attack, each hit on a barrel turned two more positions wild, and all 9 spins with two or more were attacked.

That media spin paid €68.95, 27.58x. Our 9 logged attacks returned 57.34x (14%), including both best base results, 19.56x on spin 114 and 13.74x on spin 8. No spin without a feature passed 8.14x.
Three compasses, three prizes and what our picks revealed
The scatter, a compass with a BONUS banner, landed only on reels 1, 3 and 5 in our log, so the pick needs all three; 86 spins stopped at two. With the third, PICK A BONUS appears and each compass shows a question mark.
All 13 picks hid the same three prizes in varying order. Our rig always picked the reel 1 compass, so the split is what that compass revealed: Credits 6 times, Free Spins 5, the hunt twice. Credits never changed: 2x the bet in every pick, opened or not, and 12x across our six.

The Treasure Hunt map has five question marks and two digs. One spot is Ben Gunn's cave, which opens three chests. Both logged hunts held the same values, shuffled: 1x, 1.2x, 3.2x, 5x and the cave with 6x, 10x and 15x. Spin 251 dug the cave first, took 10x and added 1x; spin 438 dug 1x and 3.2x. The media hunt's €15.95 includes €0.45 from its trigger spin.

Sixteen islands to hop before the free spins start
The Free Spins compass opens a board, BUILD UP YOUR FREE SPINS, with 6 spins on the counter. On our maps its 16 islands hid extra spins (+1 to +3), prizes of 0.4x to 1x the bet, Extra Wilds (a character symbol turns wild), Superwilds (long wild stacks), Locked Barrels (the sheet: Pirate Attack wilds stay) and Start Free Spins, which ends the picking; each map had 3 or 4 of those.
| Spin | Island picks before Start | Free spins | Round paid |
|---|---|---|---|
| 18 | 2 Extra Wilds | 6 | 12.56x |
| 39 | 4 prizes worth 1.8x, +2, +2, Superwilds | 10 | 87.76x |
| 321 | a 0.4x prize, +2, +2 | 10 | 3.56x |
| 371 | 2 Extra Wilds, a 1x prize, +2, +2 | 10 | 38.94x |
| 430 | +2, a 0.4x prize | 8 | 2.3x |
Spin 39, the only map where we found Superwilds, paid our best result, 87.76x, 36.3x of it on one spin. The two with Extra Wilds came next; the two without a wild feature paid under 4x. Five rounds cannot rank them.

Its seven spins ran with the boy symbol wild and two Pirate Attacks.
Which features returned the €399.20 from our 500 spins
Across 500 paid spins at €1.00 on 23 Oct 2026, the game handed back €399.20 of €500.00, 79.8%. Something paid on 43.2% of them, at a median of 0.5x per win.
- 500paid demo spins at €1.00
- 43.2%of them paid something
- 87.76xbest spin, free spins round included
- 5free spins bonuses triggered
By source, the free spins rounds paid 145.12x (36%), Pirate Attacks 14%, and hunts plus Credits about 7%; plain line wins brought the other 42%. All 6 of our wins of 10x or more came from features: three free spins rounds, two attacks and the hunt that found the cave.
Quickspin's sheet splits the RTP into Base Game 65.54%, Scatter Credits Pick 1.46% and Treasure Hunt Bonus 6.07%, but its free spins line repeats the 97.07% total, a misprint, so we show no split. The demo runs the model the demo server runs, 97.07%, the only one on the sheet. A 100x win comes once in 3,981 spins by the sheet; our log had none.
A gentler rating and a higher ceiling than the 2013 wolf
Treasure Island and Big Bad Wolf are this site's two 2013 games. LCB reported on 12 April 2013 that Plumbee had launched Treasure Island for play money on its Facebook casino.
Our Big Bad Wolf review covers 25 lines on 5x3 at volatility 4.24, topping out at 1,225x. Treasure Island rates lower, 2.70, yet reaches 1,844x; the catch is that its sheet expects 100x once per 3,981 spins, the wolf's once per 1,043.
Like both 2013 games, Sticky Bandits (August 2017) has no buy; it rates 4.1 with a 968.33x top. There, as in the wolf, the trigger goes straight to free spins.
Players who like side events will get on with Treasure Island: a compass pick or a Pirate Attack came on 22 of our 500 spins. The base game alone pays little; the rounds that mattered were island maps with wilds.
What players ask about the compasses, the hunt and the islands
From the game sheet, the demo server and our log.
Which compass should you open in Treasure Island?
Nothing tells them apart: every compass shows the same question mark, and the prizes moved from pick to pick in our log. Our rig always took the reel 1 compass: Credits 6 times, Free Spins 5 times and the Treasure Hunt twice.
How much does the Credits prize pay?
2x the bet each time we saw it: €2.00 at our €1.00 stake in all 13 picks, and €5.00 at €2.50 in the media session. In our log it was the smallest prize; our six paid 12x.
What is Ben Gunn's cave in the Treasure Hunt?
One of the five X marks on the hunt map. Digging there opens three chests, which held 6x, 10x and 15x the bet in both of our logged hunts. Spin 251 found it on its first dig and paid 11x.
Can a Pirate Attack happen during the free spins?
Yes. Our filmed round had two in seven spins, lifting its total from €3.25 to €15.50 and from €26.85 to €49.60 at €2.50. By Quickspin's sheet, a Locked Barrels island keeps their wilds for the rest of the round.
What does the 1,844x maximum rest on?
The game sheet gives 1,844x as the largest payout Quickspin saw across 1 billion simulated spins; the demo server says 1,843.94x. At the €100.00 top bet that is €184,400.00. Our best was 87.76x, a free spins round with Superwilds.
