Eastern Emeralds Megaways is Quickspin's October 2022 rework of the 2018 Eastern Emeralds on Megaways reels: five reels of two to seven symbols, so a spin can offer up to 16,807 ways. Multiplier Wilds on reels 2 to 5 are worth their reel's number in base spins and multiply each other in a shared win. Three or more Scatters lead to a choice of four free spins cards and then an optional 50/50 gamble, and the buy costs 90x. The demo client below is free, with no registration step and no deposit. It runs the 96.04% model; a casino's copy may be set to 94.05% or 87.05%.
Is it better to take few free spins with big Wilds or many with small ones?
Quickspin does not say. Its game sheet gives the RTP and the top win for the whole game only, nothing per card. The cards trade length for multipliers: 6 spins with x5 to x8 Wilds, 9 with x4 to x7, 12 with x3 to x6, 15 with x2 to x5. A second screen then offers START or GAMBLE, a 50/50 shot at double the spins. We always took 6 spins and START: two natural rounds paid 1.8x and 0.2x, the bought one 113.1x.

Two to seven symbols a reel, and the count on the roof
The ways are the five reel heights multiplied together, and the counter under the logo shows them on every spin; seven on every reel makes the rules' 16,807. Wins run from the leftmost reel, highest win per way only.
Neither end turned up in our 500 logged spins: the smallest board had 144 ways, the largest 12,348, and half the spins had 1,440 or fewer. Five gold lion heads head the paytable at 3x the bet, and five 10s pay 0.2x per way.
Base-game Wilds carry their reel's number
On reels 2 to 5 a Multiplier Wild can land anywhere and replaces everything but the Scatter. During base spins the reel fixes the value, x2 on reel 2 up to x5 on reel 5, and Wilds in one win multiply: all four would give x120.
Every opening screen in our log kept to that rule: 35 x2 Wilds on reel 2, 46 x3 on reel 3, 23 x4 on reel 4 and 42 x5 on reel 5. Wins with a Wild in them numbered 24 and paid €135.95, 55.2% of what the base game returned. Two or more Wilds sat in one win on just 4 spins.
Spin 360 topped those and the whole session at 33.35x: x2, x3 and x5 Wilds completed a five-reel win of 10s at x30, and that single win paid €24.00.
Four cards, then START or GAMBLE
Land three or more Scatters anywhere and the Free Spins Bonus starts, played at the triggering bet and without Scatters. The client first asks you to Choose Your Destiny among four cards. Each card shows four Wild values. On the first card they run x5 to x8, in place of the base game's x2 to x5.
A second screen offers START, with the card's spin count, or GAMBLE: by the rules a 50/50 chance to move from 3 Scatters to 4, or from 4 to 5, never after a 5-Scatter trigger. Beside a 6-12-24 ladder the rules draw a wheel of two koi halves marked 12 and 0, a picture of double the spins or none, while the text itself gives only the 50/50 odds.
Our rig always picks the first card and START. In those logged free spins the x5 sat on reel 2, the x6 on reel 3 and the x8 on reel 5, three steps above the base value of each reel.
What €90.00 bought in the demo
The badge sells one base spin with three Scatters on it, and that spin's own wins are paid before the cards appear. Quickspin's game page puts the buy's return at 96.29%.

Spins 23 and 456 brought the two bonuses, each from exactly three Scatters, for 1.8x and 0.2x. Only 5 spins paid 10x or more, none of them 50x, and the longest wait for any win was 19 spins.

Where the Megaways version parts from the 2018 original
Eastern Emeralds already let you pick a card of 6, 9, 12 or 15 free spins, with the Wild ranges used here. Most else changed: the original plays 5x3 with 20 lines, its base-game Multiplier Wilds are not tied to a reel, and it has neither a gamble nor a buy.
The sheets differ too. The 2018 game lists 96.58%, a largest win of 16,003.7x in 100 billion spins and 100x once in 1,171, both for its 6-spin card; the Megaways sheet has 96.04%, 17,421.6x in 100 million spins and 100x once in 924. Both rate volatility 5.

How many free spins do four or five Scatters give?
Twice and four times the card. The rules stack three numbers on each card: 6/12/24, 9/18/36, 12/24/48, 15/30/60 for 3, 4 and 5 Scatters. The Wild values stay the same, x5 to x8 on the first card down to x2 to x5 on the fourth.
Can a gamble turn 6 free spins into 12?
Yes, half the time by the rules: GAMBLE gives a 50/50 chance of a fourth Scatter, which doubles the card, and from four a 50/50 chance of a fifth. The rules draw the other outcome as 0. There is no gamble after a 5-Scatter trigger, and our rig never pressed GAMBLE.
Does the bought spin pay before the free spins?
It does. The 90x buy gets you a spin with three Scatters already on the reels, and whatever else it wins is paid. Ours paid €39.20 with x3 and x5 Wilds, about a third of the €113.10 the round returned.
Why does the intro card say 17,800x?
The client's intro reads WIN UP TO 17800 x BET, a round figure above both simulations. Quickspin's sheet gives 17,421.6x as the largest win in 100 million simulated spins of the 96.04% model, and the demo server reports 17,421x; we use the sheet. Our best spin paid 33.35x.
