Mayana Demo: Locked Symbols, Opening Reels, Mucha Mayana
Mayana starts every spin on a 3x3 block of squares, its two outer reels sealed in stone. Quickspin's October 2017 jungle-temple slot locks the symbols of any win and respins, opening more of those outer reels each time until all five are in play. There is no Wild, no free spins and no bonus buy. The game sheet books the whole 96.63% RTP to the base game, rates volatility 4.85 of 5 and gives a largest simulated win of 13,254x; on the last spin of a full grid, the Mucha Mayana multiplier can reach x20.
What has to happen for Mayana's 3x3 grid to open up to five reels?
A win, then new matches on every respin. Any base win locks its symbols and gives a respin: respin 1 opens the bottom square of reels 1 and 5 (still 27 ways), respin 2 the square above (108 ways, wins x2), respin 3 the rest (243 ways, wins x3). The chain ends on the first respin that adds no new matching symbol. In our 500 spins all 91 wins respun; 52 reached respin 2 and 20 the full grid.

A 3x3 jungle temple with no Wild in the paytable
On a base spin reels 1 and 5 are closed stone, reel 1's three squares carved X3, X2 and X1 from the top, and only the middle three reels turn. That gives 27 ways, and every win needs a matching symbol on each of the three. The help screen's rule is "matching symbols in any position on 3 or more adjacent reels". Nothing substitutes: the paytable holds a red mask, a jaguar, an owl, a chameleon and four gems.
Its prices are at €2.50. Five red masks pay €15.00, 6x the stake, five jaguars €7.50, five owls or chameleons €5.00 and five of one gem €0.80. A base spin can only make three of a kind, and a single way of three gems, 0.16x, opened 48 of our 91 rounds.

The grid opens from the bottom of the outer reels
The outer squares open bottom first, one row per respin, and any respins after the third run on the full grid. Each respin pays every winning way on the board, locked symbols included, so none of our 176 respins came up empty. The chain lasts while new matching symbols join; all 91 of our rounds ended on the first respin that added none.

Our log has 39 rounds ending after that first respin and 32 after the second. The other 20 reached the full grid, where 11 ended on arrival and 9 carried on for one or two more spins across all five reels.

The page says ways, the help screen says multipliers
On the studio's game page, matching symbols "extend your winning ways by 1x, 2x, or 3x". Inside the game the wording changes: "all wins during the respin are multiplied by 1x-3x based on the respin number". The server log sides with the help screen, with x1 on every first respin, x2 on every second and x3 from the third onwards, except where Mucha Mayana took its place.

That screen also prints the ways at each stage: 27 on the base grid and on respin 1, 108 on respin 2, 243 on respin 3. Neither the game page nor the sheet gives a number; these screens confirm the 27 to 243 ways on our spec plate.
Mucha Mayana waits for the last spin on a full grid
In the help screen's words, "the win multiplier may increase to 4x-20x on the final spin if the reel grid has been fully expanded"; the sheet calls the feature randomly triggered. Our log had it in 9 of the 20 full-grid rounds, always on the last spin: x5 five times, x6 once, x10 twice, x12 once. The badge never showed x20.

Those nine rounds returned €173.16, more than a third of the session's money, €109.20 of it on the multiplied spins. Spin 259 was the sharpest: three gems for €0.16, then €0.32, €3.84 at x2 and €23.04 on the full grid at x12, 27.36x in all.
Quickspin's largest simulated win for the game, 13,254x, tops every game reviewed here that lacks free spins, with Ark of Mystery next at 6,509x. Mayana also has the shortest wait for a 100x win among them, 1 in 1,145 spins.
91 wins, 20 full grids, 9 Mucha multipliers
The session ran to 500 spins on 25 Oct 2026, all at €1.00, for a return of 91.7%, and the longest gap between wins was 22 spins. Rounds that stopped at 27 ways paid €31.04 between them, those that stopped at 108 ways €92.88, and the 20 full-grid rounds €334.76, 73% of everything returned.

The top result came on spin 462, which reached 96x without any Mucha multiplier: €0.32 from the base win, then €0.64, €4.32 and €12.96 as the grid opened, and €38.88 twice on the full grid at x3, the last respin adding nothing new. Full-grid rounds produced eleven of the 12 spins worth 10x or more. The balance had touched its low of €4,889.76 on spin 444, 18 spins before that win.

A slot that pays almost nothing until the grid opens
Base-screen wins came to €29.68 of the €458.68 we got back; the rest arrived during respins, and most of it on the full grid. The sheet rates volatility 4.85 of 5, and our session turned on how many rounds opened all five reels: we saw 20 in 500 spins, about one in 25.
Mayana suits players who like a chain they can watch build from any win and can sit through plenty of 0.16x openers in between. If you would rather the respins began with a single golden Wild, Ark of Mystery does that, with a multiplier on reel 5.
A similar ladder from any win drives Wins of Fortune, which plays on 76 to 259 ways, with a Super Respin where Mayana has its multiplier. Quickspin's sheet lists a single RTP model, 96.63%, and that is what the demo runs.
Grid, gems and masks: quick answers
Each answer below rests on the help screens, Quickspin's sheet or our server log.
Does anything substitute for other symbols in Mayana?
No. The paytable on the help screens lists a red mask, a jaguar, an owl, a chameleon and four gems, with no Wild, and Quickspin's page and sheet describe none either.
Do the opened squares close again after a round?
Yes. All 500 of our base screens showed only the middle three reels, whatever the spin before had reached. A round that opens all five reels keeps them until its last respin; the next paid spin starts again on 27 ways.
On which spin does Mucha Mayana show up?
Only on the last spin of a round that has opened the full grid, by the help screen's wording. In our log it came in 9 of the 20 such rounds, with x5, x6, x10 or x12 on the badge, and it multiplied that whole final spin.
Why is the volatility 4.85 when most wins are small?
The rating describes how widely results spread, and here the spread is wide: the median paying spin in our log returned 1.6x, while the sheet expects 100x once in 1,145 spins and records 13,254x at the top.
