Wild Cauldron Demo: The Grid That Grows While It Pays

Released February 2020Updated 500 demo spins loggedGame sheet figures from Quickspin

Wild Cauldron is a 6-reel Quickspin slot whose board grows only while it keeps paying. The February 2020 release, set in a witch's lair, starts each spin 4 rows deep on 4,096 ways; a win locks its symbols at the bottom while the rest tumble out, and each winning tumble adds a row, up to 8 rows and 262,144 ways. Wilds raise a win multiplier, four or more potion Scatters start free spins, and there is no bonus buy. On Quickspin's game sheet it returns 96.09% and rates 5 of 5 for volatility.

Does a Wild in Wild Cauldron do more than stand in for other symbols?

It also counts. Each Wild stands in for any symbol but the Bonus Scatter and adds x1 to the win multiplier, and the server pays a tumble run once, at the multiplier it ends on, so a late Wild lifts every win locked before it. Of our 125 base runs, 54 ended at x2 and 9 at x3; in free spins, where the count carries over, our better bonus reached x5.

18+The demo runs on play money and pays nothing out. Real-money play is for adults only.

Two counters frame the board, a wooden WAYS sign on the left and a red MULTIPLIER orb on the right; in our log both read 4,096 and x1 as each paid spin began. The client opens at €1.00, our session stake, so €4.80 in a WIN box is 4.8x.

Winning symbols sink to the floor of the cauldron

A winning combination locks and slides to the bottom of the reels while everything else is cleared and refilled from above: the Locking Symbol Tumble, which repeats until a tumble brings no new win. In the server log nothing is paid along the way; each of our 125 winning spins was paid in one sum when its run ended.

A pink horned monster heads the paytable at €3.50 for six on a way at €1.00; the six rune tiles pay €0.10 for three and at most €0.50 for six.

Wild Cauldron starting grid 4,096 ways
Ready to spin: WAYS 4096, MULTIPLIER x1 and a 6 by 4 board of monsters and rune tiles over the cauldron, TOTAL BET €1.00.

The first tumble after a win always brings a fifth row, and for 69 of our 125 runs that was all: nothing new matched on 15,625 ways, and the run was paid.

Wild Cauldron five rows locked lightning
WAYS 15625: lightning tiles and a Wild locked in gold on reels 1 to 4, MULTIPLIER x2, WIN €4.80 at €1.00 (4.8x).

Rows to the power of six, from 4,096 ways up to 262,144

A way takes one square from each reel, so 6 reels of 4 rows give 4 multiplied by itself 6 times, 4,096. Each winning tumble adds a row, and the counter jumps to 15,625, 46,656, 117,649 and 262,144, the 8-row maximum on the rules screen. Quickspin's page writes it rows first: 4×6 to 8×6.

Wild Cauldron seven rows 117,649 ways
WAYS 117649 and no Wild, so x1: teal monsters stacked in gold up from a full bottom row; WIN €8.40, 8.4x.

A full board holds 48 symbols, and reaching it does not end a run: 8 of ours kept tumbling there, spin 398 for 6 tumbles in all.

Wild Cauldron full eight row grid
All eight rows, WAYS 262144 and x2: green one-eyed monsters along the bottom, one Wild, two potions; WIN €51.00 at €1.00, 51x.

Each Wild adds 1x to everything already locked

The Wild is a red coin stamped with a gold W, and the rules say it "increases win multiplier by x1". Quickspin's page caps the multiplier at 7 for a single spin and resets it with the reels.

As a run is paid only once, the multiplier it ends on covers the whole sum. Spin 398, our best base result, had one Wild on its first screen and a second on the tumble that filled the eighth row; all 42.3x was paid at x3, wins locked at x2 included.

Wild Cauldron two Wilds x3 multiplier
Two Wilds and the badge at x3: pink eyes and pentagrams locked in gold on reels 1 to 3, WAYS 46656, WIN €3.00 at €1.00 (3x).

Without a Wild, 62 of our base runs ended at x1; 54 ended at x2 and 9 at x3, and runs with a Wild paid €322.30 of €364.90.

In the free spins the rows stay until the round ends

The game page and sheet name only the top count, 6 Bonus Scatters for 12 free spins; the rules screen fills in 4 for 8 and 5 for 10. The potions must arrive within one tumble run, and on spin 372 they did: none on the first two screens, 3 after the second tumble and a fourth on the last.

Wild Cauldron free spins rules screen
Free spins rules screen: 4, 5, 6 Bonus Scatter Symbols for 8, 10, 12 Free Spins, +2 extra spins for 2 Bonus Scatters in Free Spins.

In the bonus, says the page, rows and multiplier carry over. Spin 372's free spins began on 4,096 ways at x1; the second added a row and a Wild, the third paid nothing but its Wild lifted the multiplier to x3, and the board was full by spin 7 of 8. The last spin, at x5, paid €54.00 of the round's €100.30.

The bonus on spin 484, also 8 spins from 4 potions, had five blank spins before €1.60, €1.20 and €4.80, reaching 8 rows at x3 only on its last spin.

Most of our runs stopped at five rows, and the money sat at eight

Session in brief: 500 spins, €1.00 each, on 25 Oct 2026, 94.6% back, wins on 25% of spins, each one a tumble run, and no dry spell past 15 spins.

Quickspin's sheet books 10.19% of the RTP to "Base Game", 60.06% to "Base Feature" and 25.84% to free spins, without defining the feature. In the rules the base game's only feature is the tumble run with its rows and multiplier, so we read it as: a spin without its tumbles returns about a tenth of the stake, the rows after a win about six tenths. Our log fits that only roughly, since a one-tumble run is not a spin without tumbles: one-tumble runs returned 13.4% of the stake, longer runs 59.6%, free spins 21.6%.

The balance hit its low, €4,829.50, after spin 371; the next spin triggered the first bonus, 117.7x with its run (€17.40) and free spins (€100.30). The second added 8.2x.

Worth playing if you can wait for row eight

Two top wins are on record. The game sheet records 21,199.5x from a simulation of 100 billion spins, while the demo server, at the same 96.09% RTP, reports 2,757.4x from 50 billion. Nothing Quickspin publishes explains the gap; our spec plate shows both.

The nearest relative here is Cash Truck 2, also rated 5, whose board likewise grows as it wins (6 reels, up to 7 rows); its sheet's 100x odds are 1 in 821, next to 1 in 885 here.

Most runs are short; the value lies in the few that reach the eighth row carrying a Wild or two, and in free spins that keep both, so it suits players who enjoy watching a board fill and accept a 5-of-5 rating. Only one RTP model appears on Quickspin's sheet, 96.09%, and the demo server reports the same figure.

Still unsure how the cauldron behaves?

Sources: the rules screens, Quickspin's page and sheet, our spin log.

When does the grid shrink back to four rows?

When a base-game tumble run ends: the page says the reels reset after each sequence, and all 500 of our paid spins began on 4,096 ways at x1. In free spins the rows stay until the bonus ends.

Is there a ceiling on the Win Multiplier?

Quickspin's page and sheet say 7 for a single spin; the rules screens print no limit. Our base game peaked at x3, and our better bonus, where the multiplier carries over, ended at x5.

What does a pair of potions do once the free spins have started?

Two Bonus Scatters landing in a free spin award 2 extra spins, by the rules screen. Our two bonuses, both 8 spins from 4 potions, never showed more than one potion on a free spin.

How many tumbles can one winning spin run to?

The rules cap the rows at 8, not the tumbles: a full board keeps tumbling while new wins lock. Our longest base run, spin 398, had 6 tumbles, two after the eighth row arrived, and paid 42.3x.

Can the demo be played at the €100 stake on the game sheet?

No. This demo client accepts €0.10 to €30.00 a spin; Quickspin's game sheet lists a maximum of €100.00. Our session and every frame on this page used €1.00, the client's opening stake.
